.a little bit of sunshine

Last Sunday, we celebrated my cousin Brenna's high school graduation. (Remember her beautiful face??)

Friends and family gathered outside on the patio for some fellowship, homemade bar b-que, sweet tea, and corn hole. It rained all morning and afternoon, but the Lord was good to us and cleared the skies just in time for the party to begin.

A little sunshine goes a long way.

Here's what I saw:

Thanks for capturing this awesome image, big bro!

Happy Middle of the Week to Y'all!

.furry friday

Remember when I told you that I've been practicing a lot for this upcoming wedding...?

Well the thing is, there are people in weddings. Lots of them. And sometimes if you want to practice photographing a wedding, you need people to pose for you. And other times, you just don't have anyone with you at 10 AM when you get a spontaneous surge of motivation.

Enter Link.

Link is my 6-pound dog. He's half pomeranian, half yorkie, and 100% energy.

Except in the mornings at 10 AM, when he prefers to lounge on the couch and keep an eye out the window. Ya know, for any squirrels, neighbors, or bunnies that may pass by.

He's a pretty good model, no?

Enjoy your long weekend, my friends!

Cheers,
-C.

.sam. senior shoot

Lately, I've been struggling with a lack of inspiration and great lack of confidence.

I'm shooting a wedding in two weeks. Did I tell y'all that? Real talk: I. Am. Nervous.

Much of my time lately has been spent in preparations for this upcoming wedding. I've been reading, practicing, preparing.

Preparation is good, but it can also become very scientific, very methodical, very UN-fun. Thus the lack of inspiration and confidence..

Yesterday, I set out around sunset to take some senior photos for a good family friend of mine who is graduating high school this week. 10 minutes into the shoot I felt instantly rejuvenated. Beautiful scenery, a willing subject, and I was immediately reminded of why I love photography.

Here's what I saw:

Sam, thank you for being so patient and cooperative with me! Congratulations, on graduating. Alabama is lucky to have you.

Roll Tide Roll,

.farmer's market friday

A new farmer's market just opened up near my house, so I decided to go check it out this morning.

I came home with okra, tomatoes, and peppers- which resulted in a delicious lunch that is currently causing my keyboard to become quite greasy...

Here's what I saw:

I would've manual focused on the roots, but the antsy retiree behind me wanted to purchase some radishes. :( Why in such a hurry if you're 65+ and retired..??
The owners saw me taking pictures and wanted to make sure I got one of their sign. :)
Who knew you could grow your own Stevia? Diabetes sufferers rejoice!
Homemade Pizza with caramelized onions, tomatoes, peppers, and feta. Delicioustown.

Any fun weekend plans for y'all?

Cheers!
