.a little bit of sunshine

Last Sunday, we celebrated my cousin Brenna's high school graduation. (Remember her beautiful face??)

Friends and family gathered outside on the patio for some fellowship, homemade bar b-que, sweet tea, and corn hole. It rained all morning and afternoon, but the Lord was good to us and cleared the skies just in time for the party to begin.

A little sunshine goes a long way.

Here's what I saw:

Thanks for capturing this awesome image, big bro!

.farmer's market friday

A new farmer's market just opened up near my house, so I decided to go check it out this morning.

I came home with okra, tomatoes, and peppers- which resulted in a delicious lunch that is currently causing my keyboard to become quite greasy...

Here's what I saw:

I would've manual focused on the roots, but the antsy retiree behind me wanted to purchase some radishes. :( Why in such a hurry if you're 65+ and retired..??
The owners saw me taking pictures and wanted to make sure I got one of their sign. :)

Any fun weekend plans for y'all?

.weekend round-up. festivals & fish

Now that the semester is over I am home for the summer, and it is wonderful.

Lately, I've done a lot of sleeping in, eating (lots of eating!), and enjoying the great outdoors. I am from a small town on the gulf coast and when summer comes around, everyone heads out to the water to fish, swim, play, and get a tan. Last week, my Mom and Dad and I headed out for an afternoon of fishing. We didn't catch much, but it was a blast nonetheless. There's nothing quite like being out on the water with good weather, good company, and tasty beverages. My Dad calls it "Saltwater Therapy."

Here's what I saw:

Sunday, my Mom and I headed to the neighboring town for a blueberry festival. It was a fun day filled with live music, wine tasting, antique-store browsing, and even some clam chowder. Ironically enough, looking through my photos you would have no idea that we were at a blueberry festival- there is not one berry to be found in all of my photographs.

Here's what caught my eye instead:
A Pretty Ceiling in a Local Coffee Shop
Unique Roses
A majestic oak tree and large white pillars.
Jasmine grows everywhere in the South. It has the loveliest scent!
WINE!
Festival Food

What did you do this weekend?

Happy Summer!

.food truck thursday

A lot of times I go places and take photos with the intention of creating a blog post.

I come home, put the pictures on my computer. And then I forget about the pictures. Oops!

Wayyyy back when in January, my friend Maria and I ventured out to Food Truck Thursday, which is exactly what it sounds like. Every Thursday, 5-6 food trucks gather in one central location to serve the local foodies, hippies, and hipsters.

Looking back on these photos, I must have been feeling a little off that day because virtually every photo I took is asymmetrical.

Here's what I saw in between shepherd's pie wraps and red velvet waffles:

Enjoy your Thursday, friends!
