What better way to kick off the weekend than photographs of a 21st birthday party?!

As of April 11, my best friend Meredith and I are both finally legal! We have always been friends with people who are older than us, which inevitably means missing out on a lot of fun! But not anymore folks.

Meredith is a gracious, selfless, caring (and all other synonyms) girl lady who means a lot to a lot of people. I knew that she deserved a grand birthday party. So, my parents and I did what any good Southerners would do... bought 15 pounds of shrimp, 10 pounds of potatoes, corn, onions, and sausage, one large box of Old Bay, and whipped out the stockpot. Nothing brings people together like  Lowcountry Boil.

As it was a 21st birthday...we also had plenty of beers to choose from, plus a delicious batch of sangria, and of course this is the South..whiskey.

The smiling faces in the pictures below prove that a large time was indeed had by all. :)

.brenna. senior shoot

This past month has been one of the most taxing months of school I have had in my three years at Florida State.

Lucky for me, it has also been one of the most exciting months of photography that I have had yet.

I've had the privilege of photographing three beautiful ladies, two of which I have shared with you already (Amy & Samantha), and it has been an absolute blast! 

The photos I have for you today are of my sweet not-so-little-anymore cousin Brenna. Like Sam, she is also graduating high school in about a month. I am so excited for her, and can't wait to see what's in store for her over the coming years!

The fun part of this shoot was that it was completely spontaneous. I was home for Easter, and on Sunday my Aunt told Brenna (her daughter) to bring something cute to wear to Easter dinner (held at my other Aunt's house) because she wanted me to take some senior pictures of her. I had no time to plan ahead, but just had to fly by the seat of my  pants dress. It was so casual. No pressure- just fun.

PS Some people say that Brenna looks like me. If that's true, I will absolutely take that as a compliment!

I have another special set of photos to share with y'all today.

Like Amy from my last post, this girl holds a dear place in my heart. I have known her for a very long time. In high school, we played sports together (she took my position on the basketball team after I graduated!), and I have so many fun memories of tournaments and away games that would not be complete without Sammy's smiling face. She is passionate, smart, silly!, thoughtful, and I know she is going to be very successful in college.

I was thrilled when she asked me to take her senior photos!

PS Did I mention she always wears the coolest shoes?! In high school, I remember being very jealous of her rad sneaker collection.

.amy. maternity shoot

I am so excited to finally share these photos with y'all today!

This was my first maternity shoot, and I was quite nervous to be completely honest. There is a fine line between endearing and tacky when it comes to maternity photos, and I took great caution not too cross it. 

Amy holds a very dear place in my heart. She was my bible-study leader/mentor for two years in college and a friend for many years before that (she actually was the captain of the volleyball team my first year on varsity!). Her house was always a refuge for me from the stresses of college life, and I so looked forward to spending the two hours there every Tuesday night. Sadly, her husband took a job in Texas, and they moved last summer. I miss her dearly.

Needless to say, I was so honored to take photos for a woman of whom I have great love and respect.
